from Q&A with KnA“Worshippers of the gods go to the gods; worshippers of the ancestors to the ancestors; worshippers of the spirits to the spirits; and My worshippers come to Me.” The universe is shown to be scrupulously fair: each attains exactly the object of his aspiration, no more and no less. There is no injustice in it and no favouritism — one reaps where one aimed. The verse is therefore also an invitation to aim high: since one reaches precisely what one seeks, why seek the finite when the Infinite is offered on the same terms?
