Understand thus that all things—sentient and insentient—have these as their source. I am the origin as well as the end of the entire universe.

यह जानो कि समम्पूर्ण भूत इन दोनों प्रकृतियों से उत्पत्ति वाले हैं। (अत:) मैं सम्पूर्ण जगत् का उत्पत्ति तथा प्रलय स्थान हूँ।।

7.6“I dissolve and create this universe.”

“All beings have their womb in these two natures; I am the origin of the whole universe, and its dissolution.” Creation and destruction here are not two separate acts by two moods of a god but the single rhythm of one Reality — the manifest arising from and returning to the unmanifest, as waves rise from and fall back into the sea. “Create” and “dissolve” describe the same tide seen at flood and at ebb. Nothing new is added at creation and nothing is lost at dissolution; only the form appears and disappears on the one changeless ground.
