from Q&A with KnA7.25Why does not everyone become enlightened?
“Veiled by My yoga-māyā, I am not manifest to all; this deluded world does not know Me, the unborn and imperishable.” The answer is the veil of the guṇas (7.13) working in each unprepared mind. The Reality is equally present to all — it withholds itself from none — but it is perceived only by the mind made transparent through practice. The sun shines on every eye; the blind do not see it. Enlightenment is not rationed by the Lord; it is limited by the readiness of the seer.
