from Q&A with KnAIf Arjuna wins, he has a kingdom to enjoy; if he falls, he earns a passage to heaven. But how do we know a heaven exists? This is taken up at length around 8.6. By dying for a good cause, having fought on the side of justice, he will have earned merit enough to buy that passage; or, more subtly, by dying consciously — aware to the very last breath before the curtain falls — he experiences a long pleasant limbo that may be what is called heaven. Since he will die without guilt or agitation, but content and confident of having walked the path of justice, he can remain fearless and aware — virtues that grow so naturally on the path of the good.
