Translation

Swami Gambhīrānanda · follows Śaṅkara-bhāṣya

There is no being of the unreal; the real has no non-existence. Yet, the nature of both has been realized by the seers of Truth.

हिन्दी अनुवाद — Swami Tejomayānanda

2.16The existent and the non-existent.

This apparently simple statement is needed to bring solid conviction to the misunderstood pairs — true and false, real and unreal, existent and non-existent. Kṛṣṇa says: “The unreal never comes to be; the real never ceases to be. The seers of That-ness (tattva) have concluded and verified both.” So the false, being itself non-existent, cannot bring anything into existence; and from the real, which is the true, no destruction can ever come. The truth ever is, and never changes; the false never truly is, and is ever fleeting. This must be borne in mind.
