from Q&A with KnA“Through many births the yogi, striving diligently, purified of sin, at last reaches the supreme goal.” This answers the natural fear “what if I do not finish in this life?” Nothing sincere is wasted (6.40): the momentum of one life's practice is carried into the next (6.43), and the seeker is drawn on “even against his will” by that momentum. The realised Kṛṣṇa remembers all his births (4.5); the ordinary seeker forgets his, yet the account is never lost. The soul is on a long road, and no step already taken has to be taken again.
