Meaning — Questions & Solutions

from Q&A with KnA
3.10Prasaviṣyadhvam — an irregular verbal form.

The form here does not derive cleanly by the standard Pāṇinian rules; it looks like a hybrid of the future and the imperative moods. The sense, however, can be safely guessed: “may you flourish, may this be the cow that yields your desires.” Prajāpati, having created beings along with yajña, tells them that through yajña they shall prosper and it shall grant their wishes. The irregularity is worth flagging for a grammarian, but does not obscure the meaning.
