Translation

O son of Pandu, he who works for Me, accepts Me as the supreme goal, is devoted to Me, is devoid of attachment and free from enmity towards all beings—he attains Me.

हे पाण्डव! जो पुरुष मेरे लिए ही कर्म करने वाला है, और मुझे ही परम लक्ष्य मानता है, जो मेरा भक्त है तथा संगरहित है, जो भूतमात्र के प्रति निर्वैर है, वह मुझे प्राप्त होता है।।

11.55“He enters Me.”

The chapter’s — and by many reckonings the whole Gītā’s — culminating verse: “He who does work for Me, who holds Me supreme, who is devoted to Me, free from attachment, without enmity to any being — he comes to Me, Arjuna.” Śrī Śaṅkara called this the essence of the entire teaching. Notice how it gathers every path into one sentence: doing work for Me (karma-yoga), holding Me supreme and devoted to Me (bhakti), free from attachment (jñāna and renunciation), without enmity to any being (the samatva of 6.32, the equal vision of 5.18). All the yogas converge here, in a life of God-centred action, love, detachment and universal friendliness. And such a one, the verse promises, does not merely reach Him or see Him — he enters Him. That entering is the goal of the whole Song.
