from Q&A with KnAThe Vedas too are called brahman, on account of their vastness. They are said to be the direct, perceptive knowledge of the Immutable Expanse — Brahman — and are said to have emerged from Om, the single syllable. In this chain of creation the Absolute stands at the top, in direct or indirect relation with all the rest. The way to raise awareness to that state is through yajña; hence yajña is the foundation, the essential means, for reaching Brahman. Doing yajña is what we can do; and even by yajña we reach Brahman — otherwise It would remain Unknown.
