(यह जीव) श्रोत्र, चक्षु, स्पर्शेन्द्रिय, रसना और घ्राण (नाक) इन इन्द्रियों तथा मन को आश्रय करके अर्थात् इनके द्वारा विषयों का सेवन करता है।।
